Jellicoe Society
The Jellicoe Society is Magdalen College's link with community organising in East London. Through its work, Jellicoe Internships are now available to students in many other colleges and Universities.
The Jellicoe Society arranges regular Jellicoe Seminars at Magdalen, and an annual Jellicoe Sermon in the College Chapel - as well as engaging students in Jellicoe Internships.
The Jellicoe Chaplain
The Revd Dr Angus Ritchie, Director of CTC, is also the Jellicoe Chaplain at Magdalen College. In this role, he is the Senior Member of the Jellicoe Society - overseeing the development of the relationship between Magdalen (and other Colleges) and East London. He also preaches and officiates in Chapel, and arranges an annual Jellicoe Sermon. This year's Jellicoe Sermon will be preached in Magdalen College Chapel on Sunday 21st November at 11am by Bishop Doug Miles of Koinonia Baptist Church, Baltimore.

Patrons
We are very grateful for the support and interest of our two patrons, representing partner institutions with a history of engaging faith, learning and social action.
Professor David Clary FRS, President of Magdalen College
Fr Basil Jellicoe was one of the most striking examples of Magdalen College's historic engagement with these issues. In 2008, the College's 550th year, Magdalen hosted a seminar on 'Education, Faith and Citizenship' - with both reflection on its history and examples of the Jellicoe Society's new activities in the 21st century.
The Revd Preb David Patron, Master of the Royal Foundation of St Katharine
The Royal Foundation of St Katharine is England's oldest religious community. Founded by Queen Matilda in 1147 as a place of "Worship, Hospitality and Service," it survived the dissolution of the monasteries at the reformation owing to its status as a 'Royal Peculiar' and remains under the patronage of HM The Queen. It is the home of the Contextual Theology Centre (CTC), which seeks to maintain the tradition of grassroots community action established by St John Groser, the Foundation's first Master after its relocation to East London in the 1950s
